Raising Smarter Children

Tips That Give Your Child An Advantage In School, Home And Life

Did You Know Your Baby Can Read

Did you know your baby can read?

Several months ago my niece had a baby and I gave her a book showing how your baby can read.

Both of us were really excited about the possibilities – she as a new mom, and me as a reading specialist, completely intrigued about all the research about babies and reading.  Long time, proven research shows why teaching your baby to read helps develop their fullest potential…

A baby who can read tends to excel in school and in life.  All known research says these children also make friends more easily.

This makes a lot of sense because any child who is a great reader will be more self-confident and self-motivated.

In the bookI gave my my niece, it gave step by step, easy and very practical instructions on how to teach your baby to read.  While most people says you have to follow certain instructions to the letter in order to help your baby read, the actually window of opportunity is open so wide, you can use lots of every day materials, and you will still see your baby make progress.

One mother said she put white cardboard around the nursery, writing the alphabet on one wall and words on the other in red.

She said she simply made up lessons and her baby could read by 16 months.

In the early 1900’s, another parent wrote in a famous journal that his daughter could read at the seven year old level by 25 months!  They both did all this with no formal training programs.

Tomorrow, check back for our interview with the author of this wonderful book on teaching your baby how to read – and yes, your baby can read in just a few easy lessons.

Remember, every child is smart!

Warmly,
